Email number one
The first email I received was from Scott Lake. Last week he put out an offer on the JadedPixel Blog, where the first 20 people to respond would get a beta test code. SO, I signed up. Here is also a comment that was in the email:
Now I know you guys are totally busy working on your own startup so please dont feel like you have to check this out if you dont have time.
Are you kidding? Of course I want to check it out. After filling out a very simple form to get started (nice job in speeding the process guys) I was taken to my shop. Below is the first screen I saw.

While the “Sample” stamp across the screen isn’t the most attractive, the first thing that really caught my attention was on the Bottom Right; Subscribe to your orders. Hmmm… can we say management by feeds? I think we can. Genius. No matter who the page is designed for, the end user can always get the most important information from a shop website. Orders. This is great for multiple users and locations. From the site updates with new products to marketing teams finding out what sells to preparing and shipping orders from the warehouse. This single RSS feed has tied an entire organization together.
Email number two
After clicking through my shopify account, I decided to be a contributing tester and inform the Shopify team about a bug and feature request. Not but 5 hours later I received and email back from Daniel Weinland on the Shopify team.
Hey Chris, Thanks for the suggestion. I added this and it should be on the live servers soon.
Short. Sweet. To the point. Most importantly, I got a response back. I know the potential chaos of preparing to release a product and know that it can slow response times. When it comes down to it, that simple act has now turned me into an entry level evangelist writing about their product. SO, score two points for Shopify and the JadedPixel team. 1 for writing me back. 1 for implementing the fix. Great job guys!
